My work is an exploration of landscape. I am interested in the movement of paint and the history of its layering, which is conveyed through a continuous build up and tear down of the medium. Intuitively, each mark is a response to a previous one, creating a type of visual language between my material and the surface. Multiple materials are used in the construction of the image. Palette paper, painting gloves, rags, and tracing paper, are never thrown away and tend to find their way back into the work. The build up of these materials, emphasize each paintings connection to its history and the natural involvement of process.
