Using repetition and abstraction of design elements, I create work that has a balance between handmade craft and careful precision. Verging on perfection, the patterns I meticulously produce contain imperfections that reflect our experiences as humans who are flawed and vulnerable. I utilize meditation and observation to develop patterns based on organic elements and subjects that I see and experience. The pieces inspire contemplation and introspection because of their imperfections, including the subtle variations of space, line weight, and concentration of color. The compositions can stand independently as works of art or be applied to other creations that have more practical purposes, such as the game I created titled "Match Box." Intricate detail and variegated color unify my design and fine art work. Beauty and aesthetics are not exclusive; I want for the everyday to be both artistic and purposeful.
