I was initially introduced to photography by my father, an engineer by trade, who taught me how to use a camera to capture reality. It was when I took a camera abroad to europe that I really fell in love with the capturing of scenes using photography. When I found myself to be in an unfamiliar location, even banal scenes of the everyday became interesting pictures. I consider my creation of photographs during my semester abroad in Rome to be the true beginning of the development of my artistic language. Although this language is constantly developing. Outside of art I am an avid runner, having completed my first marathon in October. I love the outdoors, and lead trips for the outdoors club at Kenyon. I am a mathematics minor, and teach computer science at a local grade school once a week.
