In my paintings I use oils, acrylics, spray paints, and latex to create hyperactive, expressive fields of color. I also create sculptures from varying materials, such as, found objects, dried paint and metal or really anything I come across that seems unique or juxtaposes in an interesting or unexpected way with other materials at hand. I view spontaneity, serendipity and free association asa key components in my search for shape and form. The painting becomes a “sketch pad” catering to an immediate impulse. I am in a mode of constant experimentation, challenging myself so as to expand the possibilities of what a painting can be. By doing this I hope to add to the current conversation about the boundaries of the discipline.
