Otterbein University

Elizabeth Rae Wells is a Ceramic artist based out of southeastern Ohio. She is currently earning her BFA in Studio Art with a concentration in Ceramics, as well as working as the department's ceramic studio technician. Her work deals with the power of accessibility in art and her experiences of growing up on the border of Ohio and West Virginia in a small river town. Focusing on ceramics, she works in a ‘pedestrian’ style, in hopes that the everyday viewer will be able to connect to her work easier. She sees the importance in creating work addressing issues in Appalachia, specifically the constant threat of pollution and it's affect on the everyday lives of all living creatures around her.
